Photo Front Covers

Photo Front covers are available in either half or full photo covers.

Photo Front cover photographs need to be cropped to fit the aspect ratio of the cover, and sized to suit. But you also need to allow for approximately 15mm bleed where the image wraps around the top, bottom and right hand side of the cover.

That sounds complicated, but Photojunction makes it simple. When you choose a Photo Front cover option the software will display the cover wrap, so you can see how much of the image will be hidden.

Closely cropped images are unsuitable for Photo Fronts because important areas will be concealed where they wrap around the cover. Allow at least 15mm (5/8”) bleed on the top, bottom and right of the image. If the image is to be scaled down to make a Digital Copy you will need to allow at least double that (30-45mm, or up to 2” – the aspect ratio will also change slightly). We strongly recommend that you design the cover in Photojunction Remix v1.37 or later, as photo safe guides will indicate the area to keep clear of critical data as well as creating image size accurately. We apply an artwork charge where we need to create or modify cover designs.

If you intend to make a smaller Flushmount copy of an album with a Photo Front cover, scaling down means you will lose more of the original image - 30mm or even more. That's because the cover is scaled down but the "wrap" remains 15mm. We recommend you avoid tightly cropped images.

Full Photo Front Cover Dimensions

These dimensions INCLUDE the photo-safe bleed allowance. For Duo albums use the same measurements as for digital albums.
